The Area: What To See And Do Around Gwaun Vale

The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park is an ideal place for anyone who enjoys walking or just sitting and taking in the breath taking beauty of the surrounding countryside. It is Britain’s only coastal national park, which makes it special.

Watch the cormorants as they dive into the sea or listen to the gulls as they follow the many sailing boats. Porpoises and dolphins are regular visitors and nothing can compare with the sight of grey seal and their young pups.

The beaches are clean and relatively quiet – ideal for family picnics or windsurfing for the energetic.

North Pembrokeshire is steeped in history from burial chambers to an iron age fort. There are many castles in the area and St David’s cathedral is only a few miles away.

There are lots of activities from golf to horse riding and if you want to visit Ireland the ferry is only a mile away. For those who like more exhilarating pursuits there are boat safari trips, go karting as well as Oakwood theme park all within easy travelling distance.
